Transition Zone
A hillside of autumnal aspens, with colorful willows below, in southwestern Colorado.
REASON FOR REJECTION: I included three photos from this same general area in the portfolio (Aspen Hillside, Soft Evening Light, and Quiet Evening Among the Aspens) and although I like this photo, I think the evergreen tree merges with the background too much. If it stood out more, I'd consider it to be far stronger in terms of the composition. I like the soft colors and general idea behind the photo, just not the placement of the evergreen.
