Autumn Rain and Fall Colors
Sunlit rain falls over pines, Gambel oaks, and junipers in autumn. Southwestern Colorado.
REASON FOR REJECTION: This outing was so fun, with sun showers and dynamic weather all evening long. I like this photo and will include it in my autumn photo archive. I selected a different photo from the same spot because I liked the more even light and stronger streaks of rain. With this photo, the upper portion feels a little too empty but aside from that detail, I like the bands of direct light and the composition works well enough. In previous years, I would have included both photos in the portfolio so I found it hard to select just one. Does including just one of them make the portfolio stronger? I don't know!
