Aspens and Evergreens
A mix of autumn aspens and evergreen trees in southwestern Colorado.
REASON FOR REJECTION: The patch of evergreen trees in the lower right feels heavy, like a bit of a visual black hole. There are a lot of little visual distractions and inconsistencies along the bottom edge, as well. I like the implied rhythm of the intersecting diagonal lines of aspens throughout the frame but with so many versions of scenes like this in my catalog, this one doesn't offer enough to make it stand out. The lower left quadrant also introduces some visual inconsistencies that break the abstract pattern of the rest of the frame (the dominant oval evergreen tree all alone in the left corner and the little hills intruding into the frame).
