Ponderosa Pines and Gambel Oaks
A hillside thick with tall ponderosa pines and colorful Gambel oak in autumn. Southwestern Colorado.
REASON FOR REJECTION: I have an emotional attachment to this photo and wanted to include it because I like it. I don't think the composition holds up as the middle in particular feels a bit messy. I am still on the bubble about this one because I like the idea of the scene, although I know the composition has some issues (too much going on without enough structure to emphasize anything in particular, and without light to add emphasis that might help some part of the scene stand out).
