The bare aspens here have died, with their bare skeletons still standing, among a forest of living trees.
REASON FOR REJECTION: This hillside likely burned in the Gold Mountain Fire and I feel attached to the photo for that reason. This is another scene I like but the implied diagonal lines feel a little too subtle. With the patchy aspens and oaks, it doesn't feel like there is enough structure to pull it all together.
