Early Autumn, Southwestern Colorado
An especially colorful hillside of aspen trees in early autumn in southwestern Colorado.
REASON FOR REJECTION: When I created this photo, I was drawn to the splotches of colors and the dappled light. In viewing it at a larger size than my LCD, I decided the mix of colors and light made it visually confusing. There is not much of a structure behind this composition, just patches of color. A crop off the top (and probably the right to keep the aspect ratio the same) could help since the top edge is the only part of the frame that has white aspen trunks against a dark background.
