Autumn Aspens Below the Sneffels Range
A storm clears over the Sneffels Range, above autumnal aspens and willows. San Juan Mountains of Colorado.
REASON FOR REJECTION: The band of blue sky above the mountains is an ugly, blocky shape and it attracts too much unwanted attention. The little triangle of grasses in the lower left corner also feels disjointed. The treeline with the golden aspens is also strange, with it going downward and then straight across. While the weather conditions are nice, the composition doesn't have enough to make it work. This is an example of relying too much on the light and weather conditions to make something work.
