Scoured Rocks
A patch of intricately eroded rocks, etched by many years of blowing sand and debris, covers a network of hills in Death Valley National Park. These rocks are an example of ventifacts, the geologic term for this phenomenon. Photo © copyright by Sarah Marino and Ron Coscorrosa.
