Prairie Clover
During a year with significant rain, soft prairie clover is pretty easy to find in Death Valley National Park. On drier years, you can find it with a little more effort. It forms low, dense mats, with soft pink or cream colored flowers when blooming. During one plentiful year, we walked up a canyon wash where the plants couldn't be avoided and enjoyed a distinctive sharp but sweet scent from brushing up against these plants.
