Autumn Intersections
Sage, Gambel oaks, and junipers in autumn. Southwestern Colorado.
REASON FOR REJECTION: I like this photo and will use it in the future. With the goal of tighter curation for this portfolio, I selected a different composition from the same general area (Sage and Oak) because it had a more dominant zig-zag line through the composition. Keeping both felt like duplication, not offering an additional interpretation on the same subject. Also, this mix of colors didn't work very well in the portfolio. The sage color, especially photographed at twilight, is a visual outlier compared to the rest of the portfolio and I found it easier to blend the other photo into a sequence that worked acceptably well.
