Spikes
The Englemann's hedgehog cactus is common across the Mojave Desert but is a pretty rare sight in Death Valley National Park. When in bloom, it sports vibrant pink blossoms, which we have never seen because that bloom coincides with hot temperatures in the park. Photo © copyright by Sarah Marino and Ron Coscorrosa.
