Parrot's Feather
Parrot's feather (Myriophyllum aquaticum), which is native to South America, has been transferred to many bodies of water in North America and is considered a nuisance plant because of its environmental impacts and displacement of native species. Here, it formed a dense mat in an irrigation ditch at Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexcico. Despite these ecological issues, I find it to be an especially beautiful plant.
