Experiencing summertime in Colorado’s mountains put me on the path to becoming a landscape and nature photographer. Some of my first real hikes took place in the wilderness areas west of Denver, with the lush alpine wildflowers and dramatic, rugged mountain peaks stirring something in me that I had never experienced before. That swirl of awe, inspiration, solitude, and mental clarity created a fresh type of motivation that eventually led me to start backpacking and taking photography more seriously.
