Of all my folders in my photography catalog, my “autumn in (mostly southwestern) Colorado” is one of my largest, yet this gallery is one of the smallest on this website. I have let my unprocessed photos accumulate to an absurd degree and dealing with them now feels like a bit of an insurmountable task. So, for now, this gallery is entirely incomplete, which is sort of how I feel about photographing fall colors in my home state. No matter how much time I spend exploring my corner of this region, it feels like I am just scratching the surface and there is so much left to see. The hillsides of golden aspens, the vibrant spectrum oaks, the alpine willows and delicate birches, and the snow-dusted mountains... This is such a special place and I'm glad to call it home.
