Canada

Some of my best experience in nature have happened in the Canadian Rockies and on Vancouver Island. The best sunset I have seen, by far, happened while I was camping along the Island’s eastern coast, with magenta ripples filling the sky for more than an hour. The photos are not good enough to share here, but the experiences from that trip, one of my first as a “landscape photographer,” were so memorable that I felt encouraged to keep trying to get better. My best backpacking trip also happened in Canada, specifically in Jasper National Park. I haven’t been back to Canada in recent years so these photos are on the older side but still include some of my personal favorites, mostly for the memories they represent. And that little hollow of tiny plants and mosses in the backcountry of Jasper National Park… I really hope to revisit it now that I actually know how to use a macro lens and focus stacking.
