Each photo in this portfolio is inspired by concepts relating to abstraction, starting with lines, shapes, and textures, and for some of the photos, extending to exclude context clues with an uncertain scale, obscured subjects, and less literal interpretations than you will find in my other portfolios. Other themes that bring this portfolio together: pleasing sections of repetition or pattern, with an eye toward finding a rhythm or dynamic flow through the scene, along with intangible qualities like a bit of mystery or weirdness that prompts curiosity or raises questions for the viewer.
