Intimate Landscapes

This portfolio features my black and white photos of intimate landscapes. Intimate landscapes often encompass a narrow field of view, usually lacking the sweeping nature of a grand landscape or the magnification of a small subject in macro photography, instead falling somewhere in between. An intimate landscape typically focuses on arranging the smaller details of a scene into a photo. Seeing these details requires exploration, observation, contemplation, distillation, and interpretation by the photographer, all of which are more intimate and personal processes than, for example, just showing up at a common viewpoint and creating a photo of the standard scene.
